Day 1: Aug. 1, 2025 – Arrival in Kabul

  • Arrive in Kabul, the vibrant heart of Afghanistan.
  • Settle into Safi Landmark Hotel.
  • Guide arranges travel permits at the Ministry of Information and Culture.
  • Enjoy a quiet evening and dinner in the city.

Day 2: Aug. 2, 2025 – Kabul to Kunduz

  • Early breakfast and departure.
  • Scenic drive through the Salang Pass with snow-capped peaks.
  • Pass through Kapisa, Parwan, Baghlan, and Kunduz provinces.
  • Lunch en route, arrive in Kunduz for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Aug. 3, 2025 – Kunduz to Faizabad

  • Depart Kunduz early in the morning.
  • Drive through valleys and rivers towards Faizabad.
  • Visit the Information and Culture Office for Wakhan permits.
  • Explore Faizabad’s charming streets before resting for the night.

Day 4: Aug. 4, 2025 – Faizabad to Ishkashim

  • Morning departure for Ishkashim.
  • Travel through Baharak and Wardoj districts with shifting landscapes.
  • Complete formalities at the Ishkashim Tourist Office.
  • Stroll through the colorful local bazaar and settle into a guesthouse.

Day 5: Aug. 5, 2025 – Ishkashim to Qala-e-Panja

  • Drive along the ancient Silk Road through remote villages.
  • Stop in Khandud for registration.
  • Arrive in Qala-e-Panja, surrounded by the towering Pamir Mountains.
  • Overnight stay with local hospitality.

Day 6: Aug. 6, 2025 – Qala-e-Panja to Sarhad-e-Broghil

  • Venture deeper into the Wakhan Corridor.
  • Pass rivers and mountain-clinging villages.
  • Stop at Abgharch Waterfall.
  • Reach Sarhad-e-Broghil, the last settlement before the Pamirs.
  • Explore the village and soak in natural hot springs.

Day 7: Aug. 7, 2025 – Sarhad-e-Broghil to Lake Chaqmaqtin

  • Ascend into the Pamir Highlands.
  • Arrive at the stunning Lake Chaqmaqtin.
  • Visit Kyrgyz settlements and explore border valleys (Tigarmansou and Wakhgir).
  • Stay in a traditional homestay under a star-filled sky.

Day 8: Aug. 8, 2025 – Lake Chaqmaqtin Exploration

  • Spend the day exploring the lake and surrounding wilderness.
  • Spot wildlife like Marco Polo sheep and visit natural hot springs.
  • Optional: Witness a Buzkashi horse game if available.
  • Overnight in a round tent guesthouse.

Day 9: Aug. 9, 2025 – Return to Sarhad-e-Broghil

  • Return to Sarhad-e-Broghil.
  • Relax in the hot springs and soak in the serene mountain views.
  • Enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere.

Day 10: Aug. 10, 2025 – Sarhad-e-Broghil to Qala-e-Panja

  • Leisurely drive back to Qala-e-Panja.
  • Stop to capture village life and scenic landscapes.
  • Arrive in the evening for an overnight stay.

Day 11: Aug. 11, 2025 – Qala-e-Panja to Ishkashim

  • Drive back to Ishkashim.
  • Visit Qazida village and the ancient Zoroastrian fortress.
  • Afternoon at leisure in Ishkashim’s bazaar.

Day 12: Aug. 12, 2025 – Ishkashim to Faizabad

  • Return to Faizabad.
  • Explore city streets and local landmarks.
  • Rest and prepare for the journey back.

Day 13: Aug. 13, 2025 – Faizabad to Kunduz

  • Drive back to Kunduz.
  • Enjoy the scenic landscapes and familiar routes.
  • Overnight stay in Kunduz.

Day 14: Aug. 14, 2025 – Kunduz to Kabul

  • Final drive through the Salang Pass back to Kabul.
  • Reflect on the adventure and settle into the city for the night.

Day 15: Aug. 15, 2025 – Departure from Kabul

Security

We are member of Afghanistan NGO Security Organization (ANSO) that reports any security issues, as they happen, around Afghanistan. A text message will come to our phone immediately, should there be a security incident, and we can decide what to do and where to go in a second.

Visas

We can send you a Letter of Invitation (LoI) from our company to help with your visa application. Though not strictly speaking a requirement for a tourist visa, most Afghan Embassies and Consulates will ask for this when you you make your application. We will also send you a copy of our Registered Licence as an Afghan Governement approved Tour Operator. 

Tour Guide

There will be a local English-speaking guide accompanying you throughout the whole tour.

Accommodation

All accomodation is based on you having a private room in a standard, secure hotel or guest house. All the accomodation we use has armed 24/7 security.

Transportation

We use our own very experienced drivers and their well-maintained vehicles, for all your transfers and road trips. They will expertly navigate the often-challenging road conditions and traffic of Afghanistan and ensure you have a safe and comfortable journey.
